NICOLE RICHIE, and JOEL MADDEN GIVE CLINIC FAMILIES A BOOST AT SURPRISE BABY SHOWER! On Monday, December 3, 2007, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden launched the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation with a surprise baby shower brunch for new and expecting moms enrolled in The Cradle Project at The Hollywood Health Center. The Cradle Project is a partnership with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center targeting uninsured women, including those with high-risk factors for premature births and high-risk pregnancies. The Cradle Project provides pregnant women with health education, nutrition counseling, psychosocial support, parenting classes, family planning, and medical care. Besides caring for the young women and their babies, The Cradle Project guides them to community support programs, including job training and education, to help them become self-sufficient. Each mother was gifted with a complete nursery including a crib, baby mattress, stroller, blankets, bottles, a high chair, diapers, organic baby products, books, clothing and much more. "We visited The Cradle Project at The Los Angeles Free Clinic to learn about the extraordinary work they were doing to help families in need," stated Nicole and Joel.
